Industry Awards

An important part of CBA’s advocacy and leadership position in the Christian Retail Channel is to honor best practices that help raise the bar for everyone and set standards of excellence in our industry.  Consumer expectations are higher today than ever before.  Our customers are looking to shop in stores that set themselves apart from others.  By providing awards, CBA recognizes excellence in achievement based on defined standards and measured results that provide direction and inspire ideas in others.

Jim Carlson CBA Store of the Year Impact Awards honor the best Christian retailers each year at the International Christian Retail Show.

  • This award encourages retailers to strive for the best.  Seeing others achieve excellence helps all of us know what the goal looks like and that it can be accomplished.  The award winners help set industry-wide benchmarks and best practices that others can measure up to and gain proven ideas from.
  • The Jim Carlson CBA Store of the Year Impact Awards is a yearly honor given to CBA Member stores who exemplify creative ways, ideas, and best practices to improve their business and achieve aspire to higher levels of performance in key retail disciplines.

Each year retailers nominate their stores for the awards through a detailed application process.  An internal panel of experts at CBA evaluates the stores based on numerous factors including financial and inventory ratios, industry best practices, and use of innovative solutions.

CBA Supplier Impact Awards honors the best Christian suppliers each year at the International Christian Retail Show.

  • Five awards, based on specific criteria, are given every year. Those awards are: Excellence in Sales & Marketing to the Christian Retail Channel, Excellence in Distribution to the Christian Retail Channel, Outstanding Products for the Christian Retail Channel, Outstanding Support of the Christian Retail Channel, and Supplier of the Year.
  • Supplier companies are nominated for these awards by members of CBA’s Retail Advisory Council. The nominated companies then become the official nominees to be later voted upon by CBA’s member retailers. The companies with the most votes receive the award.
  • Supplier companies that have won an award in a particular category in the past two years are ineligible for the award in the current year.
