Christian Store Day is an unprecedented multi-vendor, collective-retail campaign to drive customer traffic to Christian stores through ministry outreach and highly valued national promotions.
This inaugural event Oct. 23 aims to combine industry resources to help rebuild Haiti through the combined ministry work of Compassion Intl., Samaritan’s Purse, and World Vision — global ministries that have dedicated tremendous financial and people resources to the earthquake-devastated country. Proceeds raised from this industry event will directly support these ministries with resources for food, shelter, clothing, spiritual nourishment, education, and other needs for the already impoverished Caribbean nation.
Industry music companies, including EMI CMG and Word Entertainment, have developed a compliation CD featuring top artists channeling proceeds to the ministries. Publishers have created compelling promotions for stores. The product strategies include exclusive products, special promotions on new-release products, free-product giveaways, and others.
A small $25 fee will help cover the costs of shipping and handing of merchandising materials.
Retailers are encouraged to not only plan promotions, advertising and store specials, but also to build events around the day to make it fun and entertaining. In some markets, authors and artists may be available to visit stores. Author and artist testimonies and endorsements of Christian stores are part of the plan.
Vendors participating include Thomas Nelson, Tyndale House Publishers, and Zondervan, plus music companies EMI CMG, Provident-Integrity Distribution, and Word Distribution. CBA, CMTA, and ECPA are coordinating the event. Propeller Consulting of Nashville is managing marketing, communications, and project development.
