The chatter on the show floor dropped to a murmur for a few minutes Tuesday as Group Publishing author Doug Pollock (God Space) led attendees in a time of corporate prayer.

Applauding the show theme of Unite “in a world that seems to be increasingly fragmented and polarized,” Pollock said that God was “big on the idea of unity” in his word. Reading from Bible passages that refer to unity—including Psalm 133, John 17, Ephesians 4, and Colossians 3—Pollock invited participants to join together in responding, “We are all in” after each.

Broadcast over the whole show floor from near the CBA booth, where a group of attendees gathered around him, Pollock then led in a series of prayers for problems in the world at large, in the communities attendees were serving, and in their own lives and the lives of those they know.

Pollock closed the prayer break by thanking God for the promise that when Christians dwell together in unity, people will know that they are his people, and that they have a message that is other-worldly.

Among those who paused to join Pollock in prayer was Betty Ligon, manager of Wisdom Shoppe at Victory Christian Center in Philadelphia. “I know I need the prayer,” she said. “Here in all the hustle and bustle you need time to stop and regroup and not lose focus on the Lord.”
