- Long-time customers are lamenting the forthcoming closure of Gospel Text Bookstore in Chatham, Ontario, going out of business after 65 years. “We’ve received notes of [what] the store has meant to them over the years from Facebook, and emails, and just person-to-person about their memories of the store—coming with their grandparents or coming with their parents,” says manager Helen Schwandt. But “the times have changed, as our customers’ buying habits have.”

- After serving Delta Charter Township, Michigan for more than 60 years, Gift & Bible Center is to close. “The calendar says it’s about time,” says Linda Dyer, who has owned the store with husband Ken since 1981. First opened in the early 1950s, the store—which includes Diane’s Hallmark Shop and the A+ Teaching Center—had three previous owners. “We’re very grateful we’ve been here this long,” Dyer says. “The customers, of course, are the key.”
