Artist Gretchen Clasby’s “Sonshine Promises” cards line was born when she was struggling with financial difficulties. “God said pull up your socks and get to work,” recalls Clasby, who now runs Cedar Hill Studio in Waynesville, North Carolina. “[He said] ‘I want you to illustrate everything that helps you through this year…’ Well, that turned out to be Scripture.” Over the years, Sonshine Promises has evolved into a “near-endless” collection of figurines, calendars, greeting cards, and other products that has been distributed the world over.
