A new Morning Consult survey of 2,000 U.S. consumers revealed nearly 60 percent don’t support stores opening on Thanksgiving, and 48 percent said they are more likely to visit a store on Black Friday if they do not open early on Thanksgiving. While more consumers said Black Friday was better for deals compared to Cyber Monday 41 percent to 31 percent, Cyber Monday wins out on “More Enjoyable,” “Fastest Way to Get Holiday Shopping Done,” and “Easier to Get What I Want.” Overall, 51 percent of U.S. consumers said they are likely to shop over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend:

  • Cyber Monday: 60 percent
  • Black Friday (during the day): 45 percent
  • Black Friday (early in the morning): 30 percent
  • Small Business Saturday: 38 percent
  • Thanksgiving Evening: 24 percent
  • Thanksgiving Day: 22 percent
