Background

For nearly 60 years, CBA members have looked to their Association to help them by leading the industry in analyzing critical issues, developing industry-wide strategic direction, and calling the industry to action. In recent years, we have worked together with our members to address supply chain issues, identify Critical Issues and multiply sales through ImpactX2.

Last year, CBA began a fresh analysis of our member retailers’ ecosystem, with member and board input.  While considering dozens of opportunities and threats that member retailers face, four major issues emerged. 

In July 2006, after further analysis and planning by CBA staff, the Board of Directors approved a plan to align the resources and efforts of the Association around this new strategic initiative and launch it in January 2007.
