CBA Intern Testimonials

We're not the only ones who think the CBA Internship experience is a good one. Check out what some of our past interns have to say about it!

Chris Guynn
Communications & Marketing Intern
Summer 2006
"During the past summer I spent ten weeks as the marketing intern for CBA. During that time, I had the opportunity to be a part of weekly department meetings and share my input on major marketing projects. The marketing team really let me participate and it wasn't a summer full of busy work! Plus, I got to be part of a mentorship meeting with key leadership in the company.

My absolute favorite part was the International Christian Retail Show. I got to travel with the rest of the company to work at the Show, which was a week full of exciting events that I got to help promote. Plus, I had the opportunity to meet and work with leading industry professionals. I even made a few job contacts to follow up on after graduation!

I would recommend the summer internship experience at CBA to anyone who is interested in working in the Christian retail industry, whether it's writing, publicity, marketing, event planning, graphic design, or general management. In this internship you will get the chance to do it all and the people you'll work with are absolutely amazing. Every person I worked with took time to get to know me, to make me feel like part of the team and make the internship a rewarding experience.

Jordan Callaway
Conventions Intern
Summer 2006
"As the conventions intern at CBA, I was granted the opportunity to see how an entire organization is run--from the mail center to the marketing department to the publications division. Through scheduled meetings, candid lunch conversations, and even time with the CEO, I received valuable lessons on business and life in general.

I was privileged to work at the Christian event of the year, and am grateful to have been a part of something bigger than myself. Meeting Bebo Norman and rock-climbing with Phillip Yancey were just some of the perks from "working the show." Ultimately, one of the best parts of the summer was working with three other interns, all college students. As Christians, we had much more than a work bond; we had a friendship."

Joanna Thomas

Publications Intern

Summer 2006

"CBA provides interns the unique opportunity to learn and be personally involved in the Christian retail industry. Unlike other internships, staff at CBA give their interns valuable, hands-on experience, and individual attention. I have never seen an organization more committed to their mission and values, as well as each and every employee. Without doubt or hesitation, I would recommend this internship opportunity to anyone."

Mandy Pohja

Conventions Intern

Summer 2005

"What do bright green shirts, bouncy balls, smoothies, and solving problems via radio have in common? First of all, fun, and second of all the CBA conventions team!  My time as an intern for the CBA Conventions Department was filled with learning, applying, growing, and of course, laughing!  I was involved in both the planning and implementing stages of the International Christian Retail Show, and instead of simply shadowing employees or making copies, I was given important tasks that taught me how to lead, serve, and solve problems.

The welcoming and fun-loving attitude of all CBA employees makes a great job even better; not to mention the many opportunities for networking within the professional world of Christian retail.  I have been involved in additional internships for my university and the Los Angeles Dodgers, and neither of them matched my experiences at CBA."

Jenny Wollen
Graphic Design Intern
Spring 2005
"I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at CBA. It provided great hands-on experience in the business world, and I gained many valuable insights both in an office setting as well as my field of study. I was impressed by the friendly, professional staff and their genuine interest in my life.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with coworkers on current projects and to work on some of my own projects as well. The staff was extremely accommodating in customizing an internship that fulfilled the requirements and time constraints of my college courses and met my particular interests in my field of study as well. My experience at CBA was most helpful bridging the gap between the world of academia and the 'real' world."

Carrie Erickson
Editorial Intern
Summer 2003
"When I interned for a summer at CBA I had no idea how it would positively impact my life. Learning about the organization, gaining professional skills, completing a variety of projects, making meaningful memories, and meeting some amazing people were wonderful aspects of my experience. Probably the best result, however, was that it proved beneficial when I later applied for a permanent position at CBA. I've interned and worked several other places, but CBA has been by far the best."
