Industry Awards
An important part of CBA’s advocacy and leadership position in the Christian Retail Channel is to honor best practices that help raise the bar for everyone and set standards of excellence in our industry. Consumer expectations are higher today than ever before. Our customers are looking to shop in stores that set themselves apart from others. By providing awards, CBA recognizes excellence in achievement based on defined standards and measured results that provide direction and inspire ideas in others.
Retailer Awards
The Jim Carlson CBA Store of the Year Impact Awards honor the best Christian retailers each year at the International Christian Retail Show.
- This award encourages retailers to strive for the best. Seeing others achieve excellence helps all of us know what the goal looks like and that it can be accomplished. The award winners help set industry-wide benchmarks and best practices that others can measure up to and gain proven ideas from.
- The Jim Carlson CBA Store of the Year Impact Awards is a yearly honor given to CBA Member stores who exemplify creative ways, ideas, and best practices to improve their business and achieve aspire to higher levels of performance in key retail disciplines.
Each year retailers nominate their stores for the awards through a detailed application process. An internal panel of experts at CBA evaluates the stores based on numerous factors including financial and inventory ratios, industry best practices, and use of innovative solutions.
The Innovation in Christian Retail Award recognizes CBA member retailers who strive to serve their customers through innovative means during this rapidly evolving time in retail. Criteria for receiving this award includes:
- Creating an experiential store
- Using the store’s web site as a way to only drive traffic to the store and capture online sales and communications
- Embracing new technologies that customers are excited to use and leads to increased sales
- Finding creative ways to reach new markets and converting occasional customers into customer evangelists
- Turning the shopper into a purchaser

Supplier Awards
The CBA Impact Award for Supplier of the Year is the pinnacle award for Christian suppliers. Every year, CBA is proud to bestow this award on suppliers who truly make an impact in the lives of their customers. Criteria for this award includes:
- The company has created a program, product, or incentive that has helped boost traffic and awareness of your store.
- The company has created a program, product, or incentive that impacts core issues like customers, inventory, staff, and partnerships, and then turns those initiatives into a tangible deliverable for your store.
- The company has excellent customer service policies and works with you to be as successful as possible.
- The company is willing to assist in “turns” and product knowledge that best serves the consumer.
The Innovation Award for Suppliers recognizes CBA member suppliers who strive to serve the Christian Retail Channel through innovative means, including:
- The company utilizes its web site and other technology in a way that allows you to order product with ease.
- The company has helped educate you on technology changes in retail and how you can benefit from these changes.
- The company has created unique and exciting programs that help you be more successful and efficient.
