Corporate Values: CBA's "Principles of Performance"

In today's rapidly changing world, those organizations that develop and sustain a culture of excellence and performance will survive and prosper.

The glue that binds an organization together is often described as its "culture." It is the collection of values, beliefs, symbols, and norms an organization follows and that define what it is and how it does business each and every day.

CBA strives to maintain a high-performance culture and is deliberately shaped by the "CBA Way" as outlined in the seven Principles of Performance listed below. The CBA Way represents shared organizational values that guide employee behavior and influence business practices as our organization delivers on its promises to our members, co-workers, and in our day-to-day work. These principles align with CBA's vision and mission and strategic objectives.

They are:

  1. We will always tell each other the truth.
  2. We will do what is right, no matter the cost.
  3. We will serve by leading and lead by serving.
  4. We will champion the success of others over our own.
  5. We will focus, because when we focus, we execute well.
  6. We will consistently embrace creative and innovative solutions.
  7. We will speak retail with authority.

Each of the seven principles is further defined by "evidence" statements in the areas of our people, our work, and our customers.
