The director of Same Kind of Different as Me, the movie adaptation of the best-selling Thomas Nelson book by Sam Hall and Denver Moore, has claimed that the release isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Steven Soulios, attorney for director Michael Carney, said that while the film’s themes include forgiveness, racial reconciliation, and outreach to the homeless, those Christian messages were leading Paramount not to “promote it as they should.” The studio had threatened to pull the movie from theaters after just a week, said Soulios.
