A free Author Boot Camp open to the public helps published and aspiring authors navigate the new world of publishing with digital tools and strategies for book production, distribution, marketing, and sales. It will be in the Jackson Suites at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, 2800 Opryland Dr, Nashville, 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, July 10.
The event is part of UNITE 2018, the annual convention and tradeshow of CBA, the Association for Christian Retail, which represents top Christian publishers, suppliers, and retailers involved in family and faith media, products, and resources. The event also attracts publishing agents and other professionals involved in content creation and publishing.
Author Boot Camp features topical discussions on how writing and publishing are changing and best practices for bringing books to market. Topics range from using metadata and pricing to independent publishing and selling to bookstores.
Whether authors are published, exploring independent publishing and marketing, or wanting to understand new business dynamics in publishing today, Author Boot Camp provides inside information from practitioners who can help them succeed.
While registration is free, entry into the convention exhibit floor requires additional registration and a badge. Registration is at the door. Authors attending the convention as industry professionals may register as part of their online convention registration.
The event is sponsored by Ingram/Spring Arbor, the world’s largest book wholesaler and distributor.
