For KING & COUNTRY music artists Joel and Luke Smallbone grew up in a musical family with seven children transplanted from Australia to Nashville, TN. Their father was a music promoter. Their older sister was CCM artist Rebecca St. James. During high-school years, Joel and Luke sang back-up vocals with her band and others.

More recently, the brothers formed for KING & COUNTRY and released their debut album, Crave (Word/Curb), to immediate acclaim in 2012, and Joel and Luke were named Dove Award 2013 New Artists of the Year. This year, for KING & COUNTRY’s song “Crave” was featured in major motion picture God’s Not Dead. The brothers’ songs also have played on primetime TV shows.
