A veteran leadership team is driving development of Christian Retail Only (CROnly), an initiative to make Christian stores more competitive. CROnly is part of a new strategic alliance between CBA and Content Road Media Corporation.

Stan Mosier

Content Road Media came about as a metaphor for how the ancient Roman roads enabled the Gospel to “go out to all nations” through the engine of commerce and technology. Content Road Media Chairman and Founder Eddie Roush wants to create a new highway for the distribution of the Good News through Christian stores. The company will develop and promote products through Christian stores for the communities they serve in the U.S. and around the globe.

Content Road Media was founded to create, discover, or negotiate content and products only available at Christian stores, either as exclusive premiums or first-run launch products. This content would be designed especially for Christian-stores distribution and their core customers and also to attract new customers and traffic.

Roush has been involved in large-scale merger and acquisition projects in various industries and recognized that the Christian-retail industry needs a new way to leverage its assets and resources to overcome current competitive and economic challenges. A former attorney who championed the cause of a Romanian refugee to escape a brutal dictator and later bring his family to the U.S., as depicted in The Samaritan feature documentary, Roush has a heart for the underdog. The son of missionaries, he says he sees the value of Christian stores in evangelism and building faith, but recognizes the industry’s structure needs to change to sustain the network.

Kevin McAfee

Roush is one of Dr. Kevin McAfee’s key advisors for strategic consulting, and they both worked with CBA on strategic planning for the association and the industry it serves.

McAfee is a veteran filmmaker and former CEO of the Hobby Lobby film company Every Tribe Entertainment. He has several feature films in his executive producer and director resume, including The Samaritan, Last Ounce of Courage, and End of the Spear. He also has worked in corporate and strategic planning. He and Roush founded GR Advisors (for Golden Rule) after McAfee’s miraculous recovery from a series of life-threatening strokes.

Stan Moser, former president of Word Records and later Star Song, heads up product strategy for CROnly in a consulting capacity for all product development in music premiums and first-run products.

Moser’s experience reaches back to the early days of Contemporary Christian Music and he developed the special edition of We Will Stand for Christian stores. The first CROnly premium includes a CD, DVD, and first-edition book celebrating 40 years of CCM and how it changed the music world, and it’s available to CBA-member stores for the Christmas shopping season.

Content Road intends to recruit other industry veterans from publishing, film, and specialty products verticals to create new market positioning for Christian stores sustained by greater margin and profitability.
