Actress Masey McLain has spoken about the impact on her life of playing Columbine High School shooting victim Rachel Scott in the Christian film I’m Not Ashamed. Initially she “had a different view of Rachel … than I found out to be true in her journals,” she says. “In my mind, she was a perfect Christian girl … But the more I got to dig through her journals and go through the script, I realized she’s just like you and me. She struggled. She was just trying to figure it all out. It was a journey, and it wasn’t easy.”
