Blind and autistic YouTube sensation Christopher Duffley, 12, is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at Fenway Park tonight in Boston prior to the Red Sox game during Autism Speaks Night. The youngster who has defied all odds in life and personal achievement is working on a second CD project featuring inspirational and patriotic songs to release this fall.
The CD will include worship music, such as “Open the Eyes of My Heart,” “Amazing Grace,” and “I Can Only Imagine,” along with “God Bless the USA” and “Lean on Me.”
At 5 years old, Duffley’s video of him singing “Open the Eyes of My Heart” went viral, garnering more than 2.4 million views on YouTube, and he’s been going ever since. His first self-titled project was with Steven Taylor, the nine-time Dove-Award winning producer, songwriter, and composer, who is working with Duffley on the new project.
Duffley was born premature and blind, and later diagnosed as autistic. Learn more about Duffley at his website.
