Elizabeth Camden, author of Against the Tide (Bethany House), was declared the winner of the 2013 RITA Award in the Inspirational Romance category by the Romance Writers of America (RWA) Association. The award ceremony took place at RWA’s 33rd Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA, on Jul. 20, 2013.

RWA, which is the trade association for aspiring and published romance fiction writers, was formed in 1980. Each year they organize two contests that recognize excellence in romance novels both for published books (the RITA Award) and for manuscripts from unpublished writers (the Golden Heart). Camden was also selected as the winner of the 2013 Daphne du Maurier Award in the Inspirational Romantic Mystery/Suspense category by Kiss of Death (KOD), a chapter of the Romance Writers of America (RWA).

Dani Pettrey’s book Submerged (Bethany House) was named as a finalist in the same category. The KOD award ceremony took place at their annual conference in Atlanta, GA, on Jul. 16, 2013.

RWA’s Kiss of Death Chapter is the fastest growing RWA chapter with over 1,000 members. Their goal is “to promote and support the reading and writing of suspense and mystery fiction with strong romantic elements.”
