The Beginner’s Bible is celebrating its 25th anniversary. A celebration was hosted by Zonderkidz at the Nashville Zoo on March 3.

The children’s Bible was developed in 1984 as Dovetales, and in 1989 the name was changed to The Beginner’s Bible. Ancillary and licensed products were released in 1994, and Sony Wonder produced The Beginner’s Bible animated videos in 1995.

The Beginner’s Bible was purchased from Mission City Press by Zondervan in 2011, when it was added to the Zonderkidz product line. In 2014, it reached a sales milestone of 7 million units sold.

Additional books and products are planned in the coming years.
