Effective June 30, 2017, Barbour Publishing transitioned to an employee-owned company. No immediate changes to the company’s management team or business strategy are planned, and the company will continue to operate from its facility in Uhrichsville, Ohio. Under the new plan, all employees will automatically become shareholders in Barbour, but they won’t have to come up with any money to participate.

Founded by industry veteran Hugh R. Barbour in 1981, Barbour Publishing was acquired by company CEO Timothy H. Martins in October 2000.
