Recognizing the need for healthy, grace-filled conversation on issues of faith between the Church and the gay community, Baker Book House will host a discussion on The Church & Homosexuality: A Model Dialogue 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Grand Rapids, MI store.

Two well-known representatives for the gay Christian community, Justin Lee and Wesley Hill, have been invited to speak for 20 minutes each, followed by a Q&A session during which Lee and Hill will answer questions submitted in writing that evening or in advance at the Baker Book House store or on their Facebook page.

Sue Smith, manager of Baker Book House and CBA board chair, said of the event, “How can the church show the gay community grace, and vice versa? I know these gentlemen can help us.”

The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Call (616) 957-3110 or e-mail the store for details.
