Apple will seek to overturn their 2013 conviction of price fixing by appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court. The U.S. Department of Justice and 33 states sued Apple in 2012 for conspiracy to increase and fix prices when the company launched its original iPad and iBook store in Jan., 2010. This ruling was upheld 2-1 by a panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit this June.

Apple revealed their intent to seek a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a motion filed Sept. 16 requesting a 30-day extension of time for filing the formal submission that would initiate that process.
