In March delegates from nine African nations plus France, Brazil, the UK, and the U.S. met outside of Chicago for the first Africa Speaks conference, a time for listening and learning about the realities of Christian publishing in Africa. All the delegates signed the Africa Speaks Accord, which presents a broad scope of what Christian publishing in Africa can become. In a final act of solidarity and commitment, the delegates appointed a Continuing Committee to take the vision forward and see that concrete action steps take place in the weeks and months ahead.
