CLC is an international organization committed to the distribution of Bibles, Christian books, and Christian media. CLC works in 49 countries through 170 bookshops, 20 publishing houses, and many warehouses. Work in each country is set up autonomously, but CLC teams are united by their common vision.
Founded in England in 1941, CLC teams today are drawn from many nations, denominations, and backgrounds—all dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus Christ and helping others know Him better through Christian literature and materials.
The work began in the early days of World War II, when Ken and Bessie Adams heard Jesus’s call to “feed my sheep.” By the end of the war, six literature centers across England were established and CLC was working with German prisoners of war before the work expanded across the globe.
